WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

The BLS Instructor course is for candidates who wish to become American Heart Association BLS Instructors. 

PREREQUISITES FOR BLS INSTRUCTOR COURSE

Prior to taking this course, candidates must have a current BLS Provider card. Candidates must also have aligned with an AHA Training Center that is accepting new instructors for their discipline (We can help you with meeting both prerequisities. Ask us how).

COURSE COVERS

• Planning and preparation for courses
• Instructing courses
• Conducting written exams, skills practice and skills testing
• Keeping your Instructor status current
• Includes general information about instructing AHA courses, followed by discipline course-specific information.

COURSE DELIVERY

Prior to your BLS Instructor class, you must complete the self-directed BLS Instructor Essentials online portion. We will email you the link for the Instructor Essentials online portion after you register for the Instructor course. American Heart Association charges $41.20 for the BLS Instructor Essentials online portion. This is not included in the fee for this instructor course, and must be paid separately on the AHA elearning website. 

AFTER THE INSTRUCTOR COURSE

Following successful completion of the Instructor Essentials online portion and the Instructor class, we will support you to teach you first class. This may involve a process of teaching small portions of classes under the monitoring and supervision of one of our experienced instructors until you feel confident enough to teach a class all by yourself.

NOTE: The BLS Instructor manual (a $48.30 value) is included for free. After registering, let us know when you would like to come pick up your Instructor manual.
